Welcome To Your New Space

who (am i)?

Hey! my name is Leon, and I am the founder of this blog. If you haven’t read the about page, and you’re wondering where you’ve landed, you’re in the realm of Chrome Me Out.

what (is it)?

The best way to describe Chrome Me Out would be first to imagine Pimp My Ride. Then imagine if it didn’t feature Xzibit, have a camera crew, budget, concentrate on cars, or air on MTV.

TLDR, if you haven’t figured it out, Chrome Me Out is nothing like Pimp My Ride. But I appreciate that you gave me the chance to take you on a ride on my thought train. And I ask that you allow yourself to take the train from time to time over the foreseeable posts.

where (are we going)?

I want to take you on a journey exploring solutions for a typical engineer’s problem

My goal is to build a space where we can share our passion for tech amongst other topics, but not just the “tech” per se; I want to take you on a journey exploring “solutions” for a typical engineer’s problem and, of course, Chrome. On our journey, I’m also interested in finding the best tool(s) for a worthy Road Warrior companion. Can it be a tool we can use for developing, managing and even creating projects? Can it take over the role of being the primary note-taking and system design device in your workflow?

Gone are the days of my struggle love with JUST my iPad Pro 11″ – I held on as long as possible. Even with Goodnotes and “iSH” (a fantastic project you should check out if you have iPadOS/ iOS devices). iSH wasn’t the right solo solution; there were too many compromises for what I truly wanted. Overall, I felt that Apple didn’t utilise their great hardware; but that’s a topic for another post.

When I found out Chrome OS came with somewhat native Linux and stylus support, it piqued my interest to explore other available offerings in the scene – you better believe I was ready to give it a go.

welcome!

It’s a pleasure having you, and I hope you stay on board 🚂.
